Philippians 4:8

"Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."


According to a study published by the National Science Foundation, the average person has between 12,000 and 60,000 thoughts each day. Of these, 80% are negative. This raises an important question: What are we thinking about? How much of our thought life is focused on things that are the complete opposite of God’s Word?


When we become aware of our thoughts, we can catch negative and intrusive ones by filtering them through the truth of Scripture. Thoughts come and go, but we should never allow what we see, hear, or experience to shape our thinking. Instead, when we focus on Jesus and all He has done for us, our minds will be filled with what is true, good, honest, pure, and praiseworthy.


Prayer:


Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Your Word, which guides and renews our minds. Help us to fix our thoughts on what is true, noble, and praiseworthy. When negativity and doubt try to take hold, remind us of Your love and faithfulness. Fill our hearts with peace and gratitude, and may our minds be transformed by the power of Your truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
