"Daily dwell on God's promise to you. Hide them in your heart and always remember, 'Not one word has failed of all His good promise.' " 1 Kings 8:56

Today's scripture outline important instructions for the believer. We are asked to:

1. Daily Dwell

2. Hide the word

3. Remember God's Promise

When we daily dwell on God's promise to us we choose to meditate solely on his words. We are refuting our own negative thoughts for God's promises. As our thoughts begin to align with his word, we are no longer considering any other option besides what God has promised. We become "locked in" on his words and laser focus on what lies ahead.

However, the scripture tells us to do something very important. We must Hide the word in our heart. Why? If we don't secure the word of God, there are so many things that occur in our life to up root what was planted. Faith shifting circumstances often invade and bombard our lives to the point of no return if you are not fully anchored. It's only the word of God that can keep our faith intact. We have to ensure that the word is deeply rooted in our hearts so that we may not stray away or forfeit our promise.

Lastly, we are told to remember the promise. When you consider the Faithfulness of God over the course of your life, you can always pinpoint moments when he came through and fulfill your prayer or his promise. He is not in the business falling short or not fulfilling his word. The Bible tells us that he honors his word above his name. God's word to you means everything to HIM. That is powerful and encouraging! Whatever he promised, don't let it go. Continue to nurture it in your heart and wait for it to come to pass.

But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, My glory, and the One who lifts my head.

Psalm 3:3

A shield is used as defensive armor; something or someone that protects or defend. According to Psalm 3:3, The Lord is our shield, our mighty defender on all sides. Take a moment to think about that and imagine what that would look like. Anything that we could ever face in life is no match for God. That doesn’t mean we lives will be void of experiencing trials or hardship. However, as we go through, he is shielding our heart and mind with his word. Our faith in him becomes our spiritual shield against every fiery dart of our adversary.

He is also our Glory and the lifter of our heads. We serve a God that will pick us up when we are down. As we receive the word of God into our hearts, our souls become uplifted and we are encouraged. When God lifts your head, he is reminding you of who you are and who’s you are. When our hearts become overwhelmed and we feel like our situation is just too big for us to handle. Know that God will give us the strength to tackle every mountain. Don’t hang your head in defeat. Remember, God is your protector and he is for you! He has given you power and authority to speak to your mountains.

“They shall enter My sanctuary; they shall come near to My table to minister to Me and keep My charge.” Ezekiel 44:16

When we think of the phrase “a seat at the table” we think of an opportunity to be in room where important conversations and decisions are made; a place where things happen. If given the access, we would have the chance to hear others address and advocate their concerns but also bring to the table what matters to us the most. Having a seat at a table in any arena or industry is a coveted position. It’s a place of influence and impactful change.

What if I were to tell you that you currently have a seat at the table? God has given us access through his son Jesus Christ to be at the table. It is through the gateway of prayer we are able to pull up a chair at the table of God. Sadly, many believers do not show up to hear the important issues that God wants to address or understand the decisions that he has made. When we are absent from the table, we miss a vital opportunity to take our concerns and requests to the one who holds all of the answers and have ALL the influence and power to turn things around.

God intended for us to be at a table that he has prepared for us. A table that we can approach freely and at any time. Our position at his table should not be overlooked nor neglected. Our time in prayer opens up so many doors that lead to breakthrough and blessings. We are able to bring our family concerns to the table, our health, finances, businesses, relationships, ministry, community, country and the nations. When we engage in prayer, we are pulling up the most powerful seat ever. The next time you go into prayer, know that you are accessing the real seat that will bring change and advance the Kingdom. It’s the best seat you will ever possess.
