Scripture Reflection: Isaiah 53:10-12
10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
Our Father in heaven had a great and flawless plan to redeem humanity by offering his only Son. The perfect Lamb of God. His bruising was for our healing, deliverance and victory over death, hell and the grave. Most of all, it allowed for us to enter into a intimate relationship with our Father. There is no greater love, than the love of God. He saw our need for salvation and sent Jesus to fulfill his plan. Despite what he had to endure, it pleased God to allow the bruising and the grief. His plan was to save his creation and only Jesus could have redeemed us; no one was worthy to fulfill this assignment.
Jesus willingness to bear our iniquities, sin and shame shows his passion of pursuit to save all that were lost in their trespasses and sins. He alone could break the chains of bondage and set the captives free. The scripture says that he poured out his soul unto death, and he was numbered with transgressors, but it was all to establish a bridge of intercession and reconnect us to our heavenly Father.
As you reflect on Jesus and his sacrifice may you be reminded of his great love for you today.
