But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, My glory, and the One who lifts my head.

Psalm 3:3

A shield is used as defensive armor; something or someone that protects or defend. According to Psalm 3:3, The Lord is our shield, our mighty defender on all sides. Take a moment to think about that and imagine what that would look like. Anything that we could ever face in life is no match for God. That doesn’t mean we lives will be void of experiencing trials or hardship. However, as we go through, he is shielding our heart and mind with his word. Our faith in him becomes our spiritual shield against every fiery dart of our adversary.

He is also our Glory and the lifter of our heads. We serve a God that will pick us up when we are down. As we receive the word of God into our hearts, our souls become uplifted and we are encouraged. When God lifts your head, he is reminding you of who you are and who’s you are. When our hearts become overwhelmed and we feel like our situation is just too big for us to handle. Know that God will give us the strength to tackle every mountain. Don’t hang your head in defeat. Remember, God is your protector and he is for you! He has given you power and authority to speak to your mountains.

"I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you." John 15:15

We forget that God sees us as more than a servant, he calls us friends. We have a coveted postion that we fail to consider. There is nothing like a good friend. They are the ones you laugh with, a faithful shoulder to cry on and your greatest motivator. When you consider your friends in life and how much they mean to you, your heart melts.

You may know God as your healer, deliverer, savior, provider and beyond. But, TODAY, he wants to remind you that he is your best friend. He desires your friendship. He wants to be the one you laugh with, the faithful shoulder you'll cry on and your cheerleader when you need encouragement. He just wants you tell him everything without hestation, guilt or shame. He wants you to treat him like the friend you can't live without.

"He replied, 'Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it". Luke 11:28

Whatever God is asking you to do no matter how uncomfortable, step out in obedience. You will have to sacrifice your time, plate, pride, ego, insecurities and everything you think you know. Our obedience prepares us for our next level. In order to reach our spiritual potential God will test our heart prior to trusting us with more.

When we cry out asking our heavenly Father to experience his glory, we are really asking for the molding and reshaping, to be less of ourselves and more like Christ. Our request opens the doors to pruning. There will be a season of testing that will humble us and prepare us to walk in the newness of his Spirit.

Today, God doesn't want you to look at what you are putting on the altar of sacrifice and be sorrowful. He wants you to earnestly fix your eyes on him and see what you will gain.

If you desire as Moses did to see God's glory then the first step is to obey what he is asking you to do.
