“They shall enter My sanctuary; they shall come near to My table to minister to Me and keep My charge.” Ezekiel 44:16

When we think of the phrase “a seat at the table” we think of an opportunity to be in room where important conversations and decisions are made; a place where things happen. If given the access, we would have the chance to hear others address and advocate their concerns but also bring to the table what matters to us the most. Having a seat at a table in any arena or industry is a coveted position. It’s a place of influence and impactful change.

What if I were to tell you that you currently have a seat at the table? God has given us access through his son Jesus Christ to be at the table. It is through the gateway of prayer we are able to pull up a chair at the table of God. Sadly, many believers do not show up to hear the important issues that God wants to address or understand the decisions that he has made. When we are absent from the table, we miss a vital opportunity to take our concerns and requests to the one who holds all of the answers and have ALL the influence and power to turn things around.

God intended for us to be at a table that he has prepared for us. A table that we can approach freely and at any time. Our position at his table should not be overlooked nor neglected. Our time in prayer opens up so many doors that lead to breakthrough and blessings. We are able to bring our family concerns to the table, our health, finances, businesses, relationships, ministry, community, country and the nations. When we engage in prayer, we are pulling up the most powerful seat ever. The next time you go into prayer, know that you are accessing the real seat that will bring change and advance the Kingdom. It’s the best seat you will ever possess.

The LORD is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all he does. Psalm 145:17

I can remember a time when braces were unpopular. They weren’t as stylish or desired then as they are now but they did what they were designed to do. No matter how poorly they looked or how uncomfortable they seemed to be they served a great purpose. They were able to take what was crooked, crowded and out of alignment and bring into proper alignment.

Many of us have experienced “out of alignment moments” and in that time, we can recall how disconnected we felt. Some of us are still feeling that way today in certain areas of our lives. It’s the feeling that you get in the pit of your stomach that something is terribly off. We look into our state and realize, that we need to get back into alignment with God’s plan for our lives.

The power of God’s word works just like braces. It helps us to correct the course of our lives and bring the stability and support we need to fulfill our God given purpose. It creates room in our hearts to make time for God and prioritize the things that tries to compete for our attention. Lastly, It’s the much-needed reinforcement to keep us accountable. If we take the time to seek out God word , it will take what was out of place and realign us to his perfect will.

If you are struggling today to get back into place, ask the Lord to help you get back on track. He will guide back through his word and settle you. He is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all he does.

“Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runs out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.” Matthew 9:17

There is a famous saying “out with the old and in with the new”, as much as we don’t want to let go of some things, we need to make room for the new. The old things in our life take up valuable space that we can’t afford to give. It leaves us in a tight spot and limit the new things to enter our lives.

Hoarding or holding on to things that no longer “fit” our lifestyle or the direction that God is taking us becomes a form of limitation. You become limited in where you can go and what you can do. As the scripture states, it is unable to hold or preserve the “new wine” that God wants to pour into us. In order to receive this new wine we need to place it in something that can hold it. It is our mindset that allows us to grasp and take hold of what God is getting ready to do. Without it, we are unable to receive and maintain the revelation of the word of God that comes to renew and refresh our thinking.

When we are comfortable with our current position in life it doesn’t allow us to tap into anything new. We no longer seek to stretch beyond where we are because staying comfortable remains our priority. We continue to entertain the same relationships, networks, ideas and goals. Yet, God has so much more in store for us if we are willing to let go of the familiar and cling to the new that he wants to unfold in our lives. New anointing, new mindset, new relationships, new networks and ideas.

God already ordained you to step into the new things that he as prepared for you. The things that you prayed for but never had the confidence to walk in. As uncomfortable as it is, we have to let go of our old ways of thinking and doing to gain creativity, ingenuity and boldness. This week, declare I will tap into the new things that God has prepared just for me!
